Carondelet House Wedding
As Santa Barbara wedding photographers, we just loveeee popping down to shoot a wedding at Carondelet House. This wedding was such a fabulous start to our year! There’s something about the gritty streets and city glamour that feels incredibly romantic and fun. February provided sunny and warm weather, giving us a little break from the rain and providing beautiful light for photos!
Jana + Mark’s intimate, winter wedding took place at Carondelet House, a sweet little Los Angeles venue with European flair tucked away near DTLA. With about 80 of their friends and family, they tied the knot with a candlelit, evening ceremony. (Not a dry eye in the house, let me tell you.) Prioritizing time with their guests after the ceremony was over, they chose to take all of their portraits beforehand. They began with a private, emotionally charged first look, followed by portraits around the neighborhood. Los Angeles never disappoints–the neighborhood provided so many fantastic backdrops for their photos! From the charming brick of Carondelet House to a nearby theater with bright pink walls, we had so many romantic spots to choose from. Jana + Mark chose to shoot on top of the parking garage next door, and Jana won MVP of the day by cheerfully braving 5 flights of stairs in heels and a wedding dress.
After capturing moments with their bridal party and family, Jana + Mark retired to pop some champagne and peek out the window, as their guests arrived and the sun set. Dinner and toasts were followed by a wild dance floor party with DJ Kara Ford bringing the beats. The literal icing on the cake was Tres L.A.’s fresh cinnamon rolls circulating for anyone who wanted a sweet treat.
We sent over sneak peeks from their day at Carondelet House a few days after the wedding, and Jana + Mark relived the night with their family before jetting off on their honeymoon. The entire day flowed seamlessly thanks to the Carondelet House team and XOXO Weddings, who ensured each detail was perfect so Jana + Mark could relax and celebrate!
