Angelica + Joe tied the knot in this sunken gardens ceremony at the courthouse here in Santa Barbara. It was a sunny October day with 15 of their nearest and dearest there to celebrate with them. These two chose to have a relaxed destination wedding in Santa Barbara, before returning to LA to celebrate with alllll their friends and family. We love that they chose a way to celebrate their new marriage in a way that felt perfect for them.
They began their ceremony with Angelica hiding around the corner of the courthouse, as friends and family seated themselves and Joe waited for her in their ceremony spot with the stunning arch of the courthouse in the background. Exchanging vows with Joe’s father officiating the ceremony, the shared their first kiss as husband and wife and walked down the aisle as everyone blew bubbles to celebrate.
After the ceremony, they were surrounded by family and friends congratulating them and wrapping them up in celebratory hugs, best feeling ever! We then took the time to take portraits with family + friends to commemorate the beautiful day, using the beautiful palms on the Sunken Gardens as the perfect photo backdrop.
Once we had wrapped up photos with their guests, Angelica + Joe said their farewells and we spent an hour exploring the courthouse grounds and taking couples portraits. From the arch steps all the way up to the clock tower, we explored every nook and cranny for perfect photo spots! We loved that Angelica + Joe were down to lay on the floor for an epic portrait in the stairwell (it’s our favorite photo out of the whole bunch, and that was a tough call because these two can’t take a bad photo #totalbabes). It was such a treat to capture this private ceremony in the Sunken Gardens at the Santa Barbara Courthouse!
