As Santa Barbara photographers, we’re always thrilled with a polo field wedding. Is there a more quintessential venue for our sweet little city sandwiched between the ocean and the mountains? Melissa + Chris chose to get married at The Cottages at Polo Run as a tribute to Chris being raised in Santa Barbara. As Los Angeles locals now, they loved the idea of a destination wedding in Santa Barbara. Close enough that no one needed a flight and far enough that everyone could really soak in the American Riviera. Santa Barbara truly is such a perfect spot for destination weddings. Whether you come from the Bay Area or Los Angeles, it’s a lovely escape from city life. The Cottages at Polo Run have so much charm. Not only can you gaze right out onto a polo field and catch a practice or game here and there, couples can have their nearest and dearest stay on the property in the cottages. This is exactly what Melissa + Chris did, making the morning of their wedding a relaxed and fun atmosphere while they got ready for the day.Another reason the Cottages at Polo Run really shine as an intimate Santa Barbara wedding venue is that the adjacent horse corral and mountain views provide an incredibly relaxing and scenic feel for you and your guests. When Melissa + Chris sat down to think about their wedding priorities, they immediately knew that a fabulous DJ and great food were at the top of the list. (Along with amazing photographers, of course!) They had the genius idea of bringing in our friends at Lucca Truck for wood fired pizza, and to everyone’s delight, the McConnell’s ice cream truck rolled up for a late night snack. Dart Collective brought the amazing music, keeping the dance floor popping all evening. We’re always down to capture a Santa Barbara polo field wedding, call us up for another one.P.S.
