Who successfully defends her PhD dissertation on Exploring the Photophysics of Engineered and Intrinsic Charge-Carrier Trapping Processes in Semiconductor Nanocrystals and gets married one month later? Damn straight–it’s one of our incredible clients. Dr. and Mr. Lund’s Washington wedding in Chehalis was nothing short of magical. With rain threatening all week, the weather cleared up and we were gifted the most beautiful day to celebrate these two. Kira + Mitch tied the knot at the historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church, before celebrating with all their family and friends at The Orchard at Sunshine Hill. On their wedding day, we learned that Mitch grew up a hop, skip, and jump away from their reception venue and would often cross through the woods behind it. *cue the opening song from a romantic comedy* Kira + Mitch embraced everything on their wedding day that would bring joy and make every moment feel alive, including taking their entire wedding party to get milkshakes before they walked down the aisle. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate getting married, can you?
Kira also took the time to share a first look with her father and stepfather–two of the most important men in her life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, as we captured those beautiful moments!
When we photographed their engagement session in the Seattle area earlier this year, Kira really hoped for a stunning view of Mount Rainier at sunset. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate and our fingers were crossed that we would get a peek on their wedding day. Imagine Kira’s delight when Mount Rainier made its appearance at sunset! The couple took a moment to step away from their reception and soak in that beautiful view before going back to get the party started. One of their good friends + Mitch’s grandfather were celebrating birthdays the day of the wedding, so Kira + Mitch surprised them with cupcakes. The night ended with guests forming an epic glow stick tunnel, as Kira + Mitch ran through and started their new life as husband + wife with a honeymoon in our favorite place, Hawaii. This Washington wedding in Chehalis was such a treat to capture!
