Sarah + James had the sweetest wedding at Strathearn Historical Park in Simi Valley, California! Surrounded by their friends and family, they tied the knot in a Catholic ceremony at St. Jude’s in Westlake Village before moving the party over to Strathearn Historical Park. With quaint, western town vibes, Strathearn Historical Park is the perfect setup for a guest adventure. There was endless entertainment, including oversized games set up across the lawn. Think giant Jenga, a Connect 4 board that was as tall as its players, and a checkerboard covering an entire tabletop! Guests were enthralled, and with a s’mores station to boot, this wedding really felt like a ‘Sarah + James’ themed summer camp extravaganza.
Sarah coaches water polo and asked three special girls from her team to be her flower girls. This was one of the sweetest dynamics I’ve ever seen from a bride + her flower girls–these little ladies were SO IN AWE of Sarah. They clearly thought she was just the absolute prettiest and the bees knees. (And she really is! Sarah is a total gem!) From getting ready with the bridesmaids to walking down the aisle before Sarah, these flower girls had an absolute blast and felt so grown up!
What an amazing day for these girls to see one of their positive female role models say “I Do” and absolutely glow with happiness. If only we were all so lucky, right?! There’s truly no correct age for a flower girl–we’ve had some of our brides ask their grandmothers (cue another heart melt)! So whichever special girls in your life would be honored by this role, you should ask them.
Aside from the lawn games, the adult guests also enjoyed a full bar set up like an outdoor saloon and a cigar bar under the summer sky. Guests retreated into the barn for dinner and dancing, which included a surprise performance by friends and family featuring inflatable instruments. This was a party to remember–the dance floor was absolutely packed all night!
