Angelica + Aaron’s wedding, at the Santa Barbara Women’s Club with a ceremony at El Presidio de Santa Barbara, was one for the books. A September wedding in Santa Barbara really just feels like summer in the best way possible. Long, warm nights are perfect for guests who want to mingle on the patio during the reception, and they give us such beautiful golden hour photos without rushing your wedding day timeline!
Angelica + Aaron started their day off with a grand reveal at a secret little spot we found in downtown Santa Barbara. Knowing that moment you first see one another on your wedding day is so emotional and special, we always work to find a private spot to make that happen. Thanks to a little sleuthing by Haley, we found the perfect spot for these two. After some portraits, we hopped aboard the trolley and zoomed downtown to the Presidio Chapel where Angelica + Aaron tied the knot.
As Angelica + Aaron exited the chapel, a mariachi band burst into a lively set of tunes and created the most festive and exciting atmosphere, as their guests poured out to surround them with hugs and well wishes. Trust us–it was as fun and amazing as it looked! We then gathered their nearest and dearest for some relaxed and joyful family portraits before heading over to the Santa Barbara Women’s Club for the reception.
Nothing excites us more as photographers than a couple who makes their wedding day a reflection of who they are as a couple. Angelica + Aaron did just that, ensuring that their day was relaxing and full of celebration. We also loved how they paid tribute to their Mexican heritage with mariachi, colorful florals, papel picado, and turning a favorite card game into their seating chart! This was such a beautiful day from start to finish.
P.S. Another Santa Barbara wedding, and some of our past couples share how they picked their wedding venue.
